This was a big year for Friends of the Wissahickon, and there’s still time to support our work in 2024!
In 2024, Friends of the Wissahickon staff and volunteers…
- Planted 1,100+ native trees and shrubs
- Cleared 72+ fallen trees from the trails
- Removed 124,625+ square feet of invasive plants
- Collected 32,555+ pounds of trash
- Improved 38.6+ miles of trails
- Repaired 250+ benches
- Held 178 service days with over 19,000+ combined volunteer hours
- Led 42 guided hikes for 600+ attendees
We love caring for the Wissahickon Valley Park so that Philadelphians have a beautiful and clean place to recreate, but we can’t do it without the support of park visitors and neighbors who enjoy it.
