Over the River and Through the Woods on the Challenge They Go!

Some of the best things about Wissahickon Valley Park are the many opportunities for exploring nature with your kids, from watching ducks and horses, to climbing on rocks and skipping stones in the creek, not to mention a place to get ice cream!

Although Alyson Goodner and Paul Daniels loved the park, they rarely visited it. Deciding they wanted more time to connect their children Addy, 3 and Wiley, 1 to the many wonders of the Wissahickon, they thought the All Trails Challenge (ATC) was a perfect way to it.

So far, they love the trail side between the Stone Bridge and Valley Green because it offers great scrambling for kids – challenging, but inspiring so that Addy wants “to do it on my own!” They also love the water views and other natural scenery on this hike.

During this time of thanksgiving, we are grateful for the many gifts Wissahickon Valley Park has to offer everyone, and to people like the Goodner Daniels family who are supporting FOW’s year-round work to preserve the beauty and health of this important resource by participating in the ATC.

The Challenge ends TODAY- November 28 – #GivingTuesday – so there’s still time to show your love for the park. Sponsoring an ATC Challenger or team is a great way to give back to Wissahickon Valley Park.
