Meeting at Upper Andorra Parking Lot (990 Northwestern Avenue)

Parking: There is parking onsite at the Upper Andorra Lot and more available along Northwestern Avenue. If taking transit, our location is serviced by the 27 bus, which is about a half mile walk in, and the 51 and 97 buses about a .7 mile walk away. See map for details.
Bathrooms: There will be a restroom available for use at the Wissahickon Environmental Center.

Love Your Park is an annual week-long celebration of the amazing parks we have here in Philadelphia! At this service day, we’ll be joined by Gay for Good in working on a trail reroute through Andorra Meadow.

All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities:
• Trail work: using long-handled tools for scraping, digging, tamping, and cutting; moving heavy objects
• Invasive plant removal: bending over, using long handled tools for cutting vines
• Litter clean-up

We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email one business day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first.

Registration is required for all volunteer service days so that participants can be informed of emergency cancellations. Service days are cancelled in steady precipitation or other dangerous weather conditions. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org.
