Celebrate National Trails Day with FOW

Get out your hiking shoes! We’re eager to celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 4.
Wissahickon Valley Park boasts over 50 miles of trails—runners, bikers, hikers, and horseback riders use the trails daily. Friends of the Wissahickon is responsible for keeping those trails safe—we remove trees, invasives, pick up trash, and other maintenance throughout the park.
In honor of National Trails Day, FOW will be working on a new segment of trail between Kitchen’s Lane and Mt. Airy Avenue. We will be working from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and would love your help as we put the finishing details on the trail. Please register with Volunteer Coordinator John Holback at holback@fow.org.
The American Hiking Society created National Trails Day to celebrate our country’s amazingly rich network of trails. We’re incredible lucky to have such an extensive network of trails right here in our own backyard. See you on June 4!
