Celebrate Earth Day by Giving Back to Philadelphia’s Green Spaces

Events // April 10, 2025

Earth Day, which is celebrated by more than a billion people worldwide, is the largest secular observance in the world. Makes sense right? We’re all citizens of Earth and we have a responsibility to protect and nurture our shared home.

The holiday, which garnered support from many activists at the time of its inception, has been credited with playing a major role in the creation of policies like the Clean Air Act and the founding of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Earth Day can act as a stage to discuss big ideas about how to solve complicated problems, but it can also present an opportunity for community members to make a meaningful difference in the ecological health of their cities.

We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, April 19th to celebrate the beautiful city of Philadelphia and its green spaces with a clean up on Bells Mill Road. Register here.

Bells Mill Road is the perfect place to have one of our largest service days of the year. This major throughway, which we’ll close to vehicular traffic from Lykens Lane to Germantown Avenue, is one of those high traffic, hard-to-reach places that are subject to a lot of litter. For more information on parking and access, click here.

We’ll provide gloves, tools, and instruction and together, we’ll make a big impact on the beauty and health of this area. Not only is trash an eyesore, it’s detrimental to the surrounding wildlife and habitat and any body of water it may wash into.

Take part in this global holiday, right at home and join us for a fun day of service!
