2020 All Trails Challenge Results

Events // December 10, 2020

We offered a challenge, and they accepted. 148 Challengers participated in FOW’s All Trails Challenge (ATC) 2019, hiking, biking, running, walking, and horseback riding throughout Wissahickon Valley Park to raise a record-breaking $37,000 for the continued conservation of this beautiful and important asset.

For the fifth year, the ATC was an exciting months-long event that encouraged people of all ages and fitness levels to explore all 50 miles of its scenic trails, and invite their friends, family, and coworkers to sponsor them. The 2020 Challenge began on August 31 and ended (appropriately) on December 1, Giving Tuesday. Despite extra challenges from COVID-19, which made ATC events entirely virtual, Challengers hiked more miles and raised more money for the Wissahickon than in the previous two years. Some highlights:

Top fundraiser

Janet Stern raised $1,450 (and won a FitBit) for her stellar efforts! Thank you for your support!

Top individual mileage

Bryce Poirot walked and biked an incredible 1,051.9 miles within the boundaries of Wissahickon Valley Park during the challenge. Bryce, we hope you’re resting up, because that record will stand for a long time.

Top team fundraiser (and mileage)!

Team Go MPMPPA raised $1,110 and travelled 269.5 miles in the park – a wonderful collaborative challenge.

We hope you got the chance to catch up with us at the ATC Awards ceremony on Monday, but if not, you can watch at the link here. Once again, we’d like to thank all the participants and our sponsors for helping to raise awareness about Wissahickon Valley Park and funds to conserve the space and make its trails sustainable. Plan now to join us for the All Trails Challenge 2021!
