Thank You for Stepping Up for the Wissahickon

News // December 05, 2024

With joyous family gatherings on the calendar, big deals, deals, deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and another year around the sun coming to a close, we’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your attention and generosity this Giving Tuesday.

Thanks for helping us reach our Giving Tuesday goal in honor of our restlessly dedicated, extremely passionate, and vibrant 2,000+ volunteers.

You’ll see the impact of your contribution every time you enjoy the Wissahickon Valley Park.

The work of our volunteers never goes unnoticed. Every week, they come out, in the cold in the heat, on an early Saturday morning, when they could be anywhere in the world, to service the city of Philadelphia by providing them a place to play.

We’ve felt your support all year long as you’ve joined us in celebrating our centennial anniversary, completing our largest capital project to date, the Lida Way Bridge on Valley Green Road, and this holiday giving season.

Thank you to the civic-minded corporate sponsors, committee, and co-chairs for making our 100 Years of Wild Gala such a memorable night. These individuals and partners made everything from the ornate flower arrangements to the historic venue a reality, setting the stage to honor some of our most cherished contributors and friends, our honorees.

A round of applause for our 100th-anniversary sponsors: Iron Stone Real Estate Partners, Chubb, Team Whetzel, Newrez, Armanino, Fairmount Park Conservancy, Jefferson Health, Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox LLP, Skelly and Loy, A Terracon Company, Roxborough Memorial Hospital, Elfant Wissahickon Realtors, Springer Capital Real Estate Investments, Univest Financial, Timoney Knox, The Nature Conservancy, Altus Partners, The Hill at Whitemarsh, Weavers Way Co-op, Schuylkill Center, and Tailored Home.

We can’t help but reflect on how much growth this organization has experienced in the last hundred years, from a few upstanding neighbors who became caretakers of Wissahickon to a well-funded Park Partner entrusted with stewarding this beautiful parkland.

And the best part? There’s so much more in store.
