Walnut Lane Bridge to Close for Six Months

PennDOT will close the 109-year-old Walnut Lane Bridge to vehicular traffic for 5-6 months for much needed repair starting this Friday, April 1. One sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians and dismounted bicycles. The Henry Avenue Bridge (via Wissahickon and Midvale Avenues) and Bells Mill Road are the alternative roadways available during the bridge closure. Trucks and buses are prohibited from crossing at Bells Mill Road.

There is no through traffic allowed between Wises Mill Road and Valley Green Road. Gates will remain closed and cars are not permitted on Forbidden Drive beyond the parking lot at Wises Mill Road.
