Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?” By volunteering on this day, we will be giving back to our park, its users, the creek, and the plants and animals that rely on it to live.
This year, we have very exciting plans for this very special day of service. We will be closing Lincoln Drive (the only main road that runs right next to the creek within Wissahickon Valley Park) from Wissahickon Avenue down to Ridge Avenue for a large-scale litter clean-up! We have two meeting locations for this morning, at both ends of the clean-up area, with both groups working toward each other on Lincoln Drive. Wear warm layers and come help us make this often travelled section of the park cleaner! The event will be cancelled in inclement weather.
You must pre-register for a site (see below) and sign the volunteer agreement & release before you are allowed to join the clean-up. Gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers, and instruction will be provided.

Closure Details:
Lincoln Drive will be closed to all traffic in both directions between Wissahickon and Ridge Avenues / Kelly Drive on Saturday, March 26, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should allow for more time to get around the area.
