Join Ruth Pfeffer for a fun and informative program on backyard birds. Through her photos, Ruth will explore the importance of feeding our avian friends, especially with the current changes in our climate. Distribution, the importance of planting native, planting for birds, butterflies, and pollinators are all part of this topic. The 8 mile corridor of greenery along Forbidden Drive is an important bird area! Our properties are also important ‘stop overs’ for our resident and migratory birds.
Ruth, owner of Birding with Ruth, is credited with creating the birding program at the Morris Arboretum where she is an instructor. She has led birding expeditions throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and abroad since the 1990’s, contributed to the Breeding Bird Atlas Project in the 1980’s, and is a member of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club, The Academy of Natural Sciences, and Wyncote’s Audubon Society Board for Membership.
Valley Talks are free for current FOW members and $10 for non-members. Registration is recommended as seating is limited. A complimentary wine and cheese reception is offered. Contact Maeve Pollack at pollack@fow.org if you have any problems or questions about registration.
