Shinrin Yoku Forest Bathing with Margaret Kinnevy
September 6 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The healing qualities of the forest are well known to Wissahickon Park lovers and Trail Ambassadors. Learning about oneself, the forest, and each other, is the promise held within the park. Studies have shown that spending time near trees supports immunity, cognitive functioning, energy level, and mood.
We will walk onto mostly flat and creekside trails where we will be guided to explore together the sensory gifts of the park. Level and distance are adapted to the group.
Level: Moderate (some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. We ask all event attendees to bring a mask and mask up if a distance of six feet cannot be maintained during the activity. If you or anyone in your household are exhibiting COVID-19 systems, please stay home. More information is at fow.org/covid-19.
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Long pants are recommended for protection against occasional poison ivy and possible ticks. Bring water and a snack if desired. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. For more information contact Noah Kulak at firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
