A Ride through History – Exploring Forbidden Drive by Bicycle with Lisa Kleiman and Jean McWilliams
June 20, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Meet at Valley Green Inn
We will come together in front of the historic Valley Green Inn to begin our bike tour along Forbidden Drive, first heading north towards Northwestern Avenue, then looping back down to Rittenhouse Town, concluding our trip back at Valley Green. We will make stops along the way to appreciate points of historic interest. Total cycling distance will be 11 miles on mostly flat gravel surface. Kick into summer with this leisurely cycling experience of the park in its seasonal glory! Participants will need to provide their own bicycles, and helmets must be worn. In addition, each participant is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of their own bicycle.
Level: Moderate (some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Distance: Bike ride will be at a moderate pace ( 8 – 10 mph) with stops at areas of historic interest to provide background information and will cover the full length of Forbidden Drive. Participants will be responsible for the safety and maintenance of their own bikes.
Audience: Adults Only
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. If you or anyone in your household are exhibiting COVID-19 systems, please stay home. More information is at fow.org/covid-19.
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain.
