Leave No Trace Clean-Up
July 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Meeting at Magargee Dam
A map with the meeting location & nearby parking can be found here.
Wissahickon Valley Park is a stunning 1800 acres of green space that sees over 1 million visits annually. That’s a lot of wear and tear on the park! Come out this Saturday to help us clean up litter in several of the high-use areas of the park. We’ll be meeting at Magargee Dam, located just north of Wise’s Mill Road on Forbidden Drive.
This clean-up is part of our Leave No Trace Hot Spot weekend, where we’ll be visited by the traveling educators at The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. Join us for more of these special events to learn about minimizing our impacts and how to protect and enjoy Wissahickon Valley Park in a responsible and environmentally sustainable way.
Registration is required for this event. We ask all event attendees to bring a mask and mask up if a distance of six feet cannot be maintained during the activity. If you or anyone in your household are exhibiting COVID-19 systems, please stay home. More information is at fow.org/covid-19.
Tools and instruction will be provided. Bringing your own gloves is highly recommended. For more information contact Shawn Green at email@example.com
