Lots to Learn on the Way to Tedyuscung w/ Bruce Wagner
April 22, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Meet at Warming Shed at Valley Green Inn. We will walk from Valley Green Inn to the Tedyuscung Statue through the woods on rocky trails. Using stories and photographs, we will experience the past and present of our Wissahickon Valley. We will note some of the geology of the park and historic reminders along the way, and visit the Victorian stairway that marks the inclusion of the Wissahickon in the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. On our return, the group will decide whether to take Forbidden Drive or a woodsy path on the other side of the creek. Pace will be set by the group. The trail is even, but there are some hills that need to be taken slowly. Bring water and maybe your camera. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Level: easy to moderate.
Registration is recommended for all hikes (required if indicated) so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Long pants are recommended for protection against occasional poison ivy and possible ticks. Bring water and a snack if desired. Unless otherwise noted, children over six are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. For more information contact Cesali Renn at email@example.com. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
