Autumn Mindful Hike

Friday, November 6 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Meeting at Crefeld Street Trailhead (Crefeld Street & Lavender Trail)

Please join Marv Schwartz, Patty Davis, and Anne Silvers Lee for a slower paced Mindfulness hike where we will stop to look at plants, rocks, the creek, mushrooms, moss, and trees. During the walk, we will try some optional mindful practices like meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, creative visualization and guided imagery. The walk will begin at the Lavender Trail on Crefield Street in Chestnut Hill. We will hike about 2 1/2-3 miles mostly on the Orange and Lavender trails with a short portion on Forbidden Drive. We will have a bathroom break at Bells Mill Rd and Forbidden drive.

Sadly we cannot have dogs on this hike other than service dogs. Please bring water and wear appropriate footwear since will be on some rocky and hill portions of the trail.

Distance: 3 miles
Audience: Ages 18+
Parking and Transit: If you’re coming by car, there is nearby street parking all along Crefeld Street. The nearest transit options are the 51 and 97 buses at Germantown Ave & Norman Ln and the Chestnut Hill West train station. See map for details.
Restrooms: Bells Mill & Forbidden Drive porta potties

Preview the route on Komoot.

Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain, extreme heat, muddy conditions, or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org.
