Annual Creek Cleanup & Talkin’ Trash Picnic
April 29, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Meet at Historic Rittenhouse Town
This year our annual creek cleanup will be held in the south end of the park. We will focus our efforts not only on cleaning up the Wissahickon Creek, but also the Monoshone Creek, a historic creek that used to power the paper mills at RittenhouseTown. Both the Wissahickon and Monoshone supply drinking water to 300,000 Philadelphians which makes keeping them clean one of our top priorities. This is a very family friendly event!
After the Cleanup, join us for the Talkin’ Trash picnic with our fellow volunteers from upstream. from 11 am – 1 pm. The picnic is at Fort Washington State Park at the pavilion near the Militia Hill L-3 parking lot. Enter from the Joshua Road gate and follow the loop road. Directions will be available at the cleanup.
