Tree & Shrub Planting Day
October 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Meeting at Red Covered Bridge on Forbidden Drive
Wissahickon Valley Park is much more than a place to recreate. It’s also habitat to 100’s of species of wildlife, and it provides a green buffer between impervious surfaces and the Wissahickon Creek, which is an important source of drinking water for residents in Northwest Philadelphia. On this day, we will be expanding on a restoration site by planting more native trees and shrubs.
No experience is needed. We provide gloves, tools and instruction – you just need to show up! Volunteer service Days are excellent, easy ways to help us take care of Wissahickon Valley Park. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and bring a water bottle with you. Detailed information and the specific meeting location will be sent by email the day before the event.
