Lincoln Drive Clean-Up
October 22, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Meeting at Historic Rittenhouse Town
We will be meeting near the kiosk on Rittenhouse Lane at Historic Rittenhouse Town. See this map for the specific meeting location and parking options. Please note that the road closure on Lincoln Drive (between Johnson Street and Ridge Avenue) will go into effect at 7:00am, so plan your travel accordingly. If you are driving, you will need to park on neighborhood streets and walk to the meeting location. Be sure to give yourself enough time to get to the meet-up location.
Lincoln Drive is the only main road that runs right next to the creek within Wissahickon Valley Park, and one that few have had the opportunity to walk on. This Saturday, we’re partnering with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation to close Lincoln Drive from Johnson Street to Ridge Avenue for a large-scale clean-up along this heavily traveled (and often heavily littered) road. Come help us keep this section of the creek clean and beautiful!
No experience is needed. We provide gloves, tools and instruction – you just need to show up! Volunteer service Days are excellent, easy ways to help us take care of Wissahickon Valley Park. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and bring a water bottle with you. Detailed information and the specific meeting location will be sent by email the day before the event. For more information contact Amelia Marren at email@example.com
Many thanks to our partners:
Lincoln Drive will be closed to all traffic in both directions between Johnson Street and Ridge Avenues / Kelly Drive on Saturday, October 22, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should allow for more time to get around the area.
